Jayam Ravi on wife’s allegation about divorce: Families, she and I had discussion

Actor Jayam Ravi, who recently made headlines with the announcement of his divorce from wife Aarti, responded to her statement regarding the unexpected nature of the announcement. Aarti had claimed that she was unaware of the decision and had not given her consent. In response, Jayam Ravi revealed that he had sent legal notices to her prior to making the public announcement. Additionally, the actor asserted that he had engaged in discussions about the matter with both Aarti and her family.
Speaking to Hindustan Times about Aarti’s allegations, Jayam Ravi responded and shared that he sent “two legal notices to Aarti in the months before September 9, 2024” and that she did not respond to either of them. He added, “I was forced to make the divorce announcement public because there were so many rumours already, and I am answerable to my fans. When everyone was talking about it in the media, how could I just sit quietly? I had already started legal proceedings and felt it needed to be addressed.”

In response to Aarti’s allegation that Jayam was unreachable and that they had never discussed the divorce, the actor stated, “That’s absolutely not true. Both our families and she and I had a discussion about this together. Then they gave us space and she and I had a separate conversation and I told her clearly this is what I wanted. So, she was and her family were completely aware of this. After that, Aarti’s father and I had a conversation about this matter. How can they claim otherwise?”

In his statement, Jayam explained that he decided to file for divorce due to a feeling of extreme suffocation that arose after a certain point. He revealed that he had left the house several months ago, taking only one car. Jayam described himself as a nomad at this time.
When asked where he lives now, Jayam replied, “I moved to Mumbai, but I keep coming to Chennai often. In fact, I was there for my elder son Aarav’s birthday in June and I spent time with him. I am very accessible to my children, Aarav and Ayaan.”
Jayam Ravi and wife Aarti got married in June 2009. They are parents to two sons, Aarav and Ayaan.
